Our Story

At Calculated Crumb, our mission is to create a gluten-free bakery experience that feels inclusive, elevated, and truly delicious. We believe everyone deserves to enjoy fresh, comforting baked goods without feeling limited by dietary restrictions, which is why every item we create is thoughtfully crafted to bring the same joy, flavour, and indulgence people expect from a traditional bakery.

As a family-owned bakery based on the North Shore, we specialize in small-batch gluten-free baking made with care, quality ingredients, and attention to detail. What began as a personal journey navigating life with celiac disease quickly grew into a passion for creating treats that feel safe, beautiful, and exciting to share with others. After struggling to find gluten-free baking that truly captured the texture, flavour, and experience of classic homemade favourites, we set out to create our own.

From soft-baked cookies and rich fudgy brownies to cupcakes, muffins, loaves, and seasonal specialties, every recipe is carefully developed to ensure gluten-free baking never feels like a compromise. We focus on creating treats that are comforting, nostalgic, and thoughtfully made — desserts people reach for because they genuinely love them, not simply because they are gluten-free.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. Through local farmers markets and small-batch baking, we hope to create meaningful connections while sharing fresh handmade treats with families, friends, and neighbours across the North Shore. You can find us at the North Vancouver Farmers Market every Saturday from May through September, where we proudly share our newest creations, seasonal favourites, and freshly baked treats with the local community.
